Understanding and Managing Adult ADHD | Sagi Shalom Counselling
At Sagi Shalom Counselling Clinic, we understand that navigating the complexities of adult life can be challenging, especially when symptoms of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) come into play. Formerly known as ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that can significantly impact your daily functioning.
What is Adult ADHD?
ADHD is characterised by a spectrum of symptoms, including hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsivity. While commonly associated with children, adult ADHD often goes unnoticed, leading to misunderstandings and struggles in various aspects of life. The subtleties of these symptoms can make diagnosis difficult, and many adults are unaware that they might be affected.
Do I Have Adult ADHD?
Many adults seek an adult ADHD assessment as life’s responsibilities—such as building a career, managing a household, or raising a family—become increasingly demanding. As these challenges grow, so does the need for better focus, enhanced organizational skills, and emotional regulation. However, individuals with ADHD often struggle with attention, impulse control, and time management, making daily tasks more difficult. Taking an adult ADHD assessment test can help identify symptoms, leading to effective strategies and professional support to manage ADHD successfully.

-
Before Your Appointment
To ensure that we can provide you with the best possible care, we’ll ask you to fill out a few forms prior to your appointment. This includes a simple symptom checklist and some collateral information. Sharing this information allows our specialist to gain a clearer understanding of how your ADHD symptoms may have influenced your life.
We encourage you to be as open and honest as possible about your experiences and the impact ADHD has had on your daily life. The more we know, the better we can work together to create an effective treatment plan that truly meets your needs.
-
Your Assessment Session
Your assessment will be conducted by 2-3 members of our highly experienced ADHD team.
-
After Your Assessment
Once your assessment is complete, you will receive a comprehensive report. This report will outline your diagnosis and detail a treatment plan specifically designed for you. We believe in empowering you with knowledge and resources to help you thrive. With an ADHD diagnosis, you may be eligible for "reasonable adjustments" to help you succeed at work or school. By sharing your diagnosis, your employer or school can work with you to make helpful changes.
If you’re ready to take the next step towards a clearer understanding of your experience with ADHD, we’re here for you.
